Just as we were making the turn south out of the main shipping channel, our mainsail split in the gusty winds (See below!) We turned back and ended up spending a few unexpected but amazing days in Sausalito.

While there, we met the crew at South Beach Riggers. They helped extract the tangled mainsail (from inside the mast) and upgraded and tuned our standing rigging. Thanks to Tom and the crew for helping us out! Joe at Leading Edge Sails in San Mateo jumped right on the sail repair. He’s going to build us a heavy-duty storm jib too, thanks Joe!
